Making a major hair change can feel like a life-altering decision. Whether you’re looking to chop it all off or completely switch up your color, it’s no easy feat to work up the courage to take the plunge. And with good reason! Not only does it require a serious time commitment to sit in that salon chair for hours on end, but it can also be difficult to maintain a heavily-dyed mane for more than a couple of weeks. (Bleach is no joke!)
Still, doesn’t it seem like our favorite A-listers change their hair, like, every other week? On almost every red carpet or blockbuster photo-call, it’s usually a safe bet that at least one superstar is going to step out looking like a completely different person.
Sure, sometimes they’ve taken on a new shade for a career-changing role (we’re looking at you Emilia Clarke), but other times, it’s just an effective way to reinvent yourself after a tough breakup or if you’re in a rut. Sometimes, famous or not, we all just need to mix things up.
Whether you’re looking to go full-on platinum blonde or are more in the market for rich highlights or a subtle, transitional balayage, there’s almost certainly a celebrity who’s made the change.
Read on for all the hair inspiration you need this season…
