Bone Broth is the Perfect Anti-Aging Powerhouse for Winter

Plus, three delicious recipes to try.

Whether you’re on a diet or not, bone broth is being touted as one of the healthiest superfoods out there today — especially when it comes to aging. Since collagen production slows as we age and it’s increasingly important to take care of our gut health, bone broth is a staple in your kitchen you’ll want to take advantage of daily. The best part is, you can make your own bone broth or used a store-bought version. Scroll down to find out all the ways that bone broth benefits your health, and three delicious recipes to test out.

It powers weight loss.

This liquid gold brims with a trio of nutrients (collagen, calcium, and glycine) that work together to speed fat burning, boost detoxification, and promote the formation of metabolism-boosting lean muscle mass. The payoff: In one study, subjects who had two cups of bone broth daily lost 50 percent more weight than those who skipped it.

It erases fine lines.

Bone broth works double duty to make your skin look younger and more radiant. It delivers collagen, a protein that increases skin elasticity, and hyaluronic acid, a compound that boosts cellular moisture, to plump skin cells, smooth fine lines, and significantly reduce the appearance of wrinkles in 60 days.

It boosts sunny moods.

A protein found in bone broth (called osteocalcin) increases the synthesis of the brain chemicals serotonin and dopamine, helping to quickly foster a more positive outlook. In fact, researchers at Columbia University Medical Center found that subjects with high levels of osteocalcin had 44 percent more serotonin and dopamine than those with lower levels.

If you’re now convinced that you need to get in your daily serving of bone broth but don’t know how, check out these recipes that are simple, delicious, and oh so healthy!
