Woman Loses Half Her Body Weight By Cutting Two Foods Out of Her Diet

Carli Jay had been overweight her entire life. That is until three years ago, when she embarked on an amazing weight loss journey that helped her lose a whopping 140 pounds.

Growing up in a “foodie” household, Carli often overindulged and developed a larger figure for her age. Although she admitted to being three times bigger than most of her friends in high school, she still claimed to be an overall happy and confident kid.

“I never let [my size stop me from enjoying my life],” she told Women’s Health. “But throughout that time, I was always chewing on something.”

It wasn’t until later in life that her weight really began to bother her. After moving from Australia to the U.K. and working long shifts in a desk job, Carli found fewer hours to exercise and more limited access to fresh food. Consuming nearly 4,000 calories a day, she ballooned to 280 pounds. When her weight prevented her from going sky diving—something she had always longed to do—on a trip to Dubai, Carli was devastated.

“This was the first time in my entire life that I’d been held back from something because of my size, and I hated it,” she claimed. “This pushed me even further in the direction of change.”

Then one morning, when she couldn’t get out of bed because she was so overweight, she finally decided that enough was enough. She got on the stationary bike that had long been sitting in her home untouched and never looked back.

From then on, she began going to the gym twice a day, and used yoga and swimming to trim off any sagging skin that remained as she started to lose weight. She also began lowering her calorie intake and cutting sugar and dairy out of her diet completely. After just two years, she lost half her body weight, clocking in at a healthy 140 pounds. So amazing!

Although she admitted that her journey hasn’t always been easy (in fact, she encourages people to start small with their lifestyle changes to ensure success), she claimed that being a role model for others is what truly keeps her motivated.

“I get so many messages from women around the world, and I want to continue being a positive influence in their lives.”

You go girl!
