Tony Danza Swears Breadsticks for Breakfast Help Him Maintain His Good Looks
Actor Tony Danza must have somehow tapped into the fountain of youth because the Who’s the Boss? star looks far younger than his 67 years. The silver fox and former ’80s heartthrob credits his youthful appearance to an easy diet trick that might end up saving you a few minutes in the kitchen every morning. Danza’s secret? An unconventional diet that involves eating the same breakfast each day. And no, sadly, it’s not maple-cinnamon sticky buns.
His day starts with a glass of Metamucil ($25.44, Amazon) and a morning workout — all very normal so far. Then, he fuels up with a banana… and three breadsticks. “The breadsticks are addictive, but I control it with a banana,” he wrote in a food diary he shared with Grub Street.
While Danza’s good looks probably have more to do with his fastidious workout habits, we’d all like to think a banana and three breadsticks is the key to preventing wrinkles or a method to reduce belly fat effortlessly. And even though it looks like we’ll still need to put in some work for that to happen, you don’t have to torture yourself at the gym to see results. Danza’s exercise routine is only a few weights, a little bit of cardio, and a cycle on the stationary bike. Oh, and a tap dancing class, of course!
If you’re still not completely convinced, Danza revealed in his food diary that he ate chicken or eggplant parmesan six times during seven days. If a few minutes in the gym keeps us looking as good as he looks — and, most important, lets us eat carbs and cheese — maybe it’s time to pick up a few of his tricks.
