Black Friday can be overwhelming, to say the least. With practically every retailer on the planet offering up massive discounts, it can be tough to decipher which ones are truly killer and which ones are simply marking down their overstocked junk. You also don’t want to jump at a doorbuster, only to find out another store is offering it up cheaper. We’ve done our homework and combed through ads from four of the biggest Black Friday players— Macy’s, Kohl’s, Walmart, and Target — to help you figure out exactly what to buy on Black Friday and when it will be up for grabs.

Best Black Friday Stores

When it comes to Black Friday, no one does it quite like the big box stores. Each one offers up hundreds of doorbuster, or special limited-time deals, on everything from technology and cookware to bedding and clothing. While some will be unique to a specific retailer, others will be exactly the same. Read on for our analysis of the Black Friday deals from this year’s big four to help you decide which one to hit up first.

Macy’s Black Friday: Macy’s will host not one, but two massive sales this holiday season, the first of which kicked off on Nov. 21 and runs through Nov. 27, when phase two will begin, with even steeper discounts. This is a great place to pick up home goods (food storage sets, comforters, and cookware deals will abound), you can also shop for more fashionable clothing items, like fall boots and supportive bras. Shipping is free with orders of $25 or more.

Kohl’s Black Friday: Kohl’s is a one-stop destination for all those big ticket items you’ve been eyeing for ages, but haven’t had the dough to pull the trigger on: think KitchenAid mixers, iRobot roombas, and kitchen electronics. This year’s sale starts on Nov. 25, with a 15 percent coupon (THANKS15) to lower prices even further on select items. Customers will also get $15 in Kohl’s cash with every $50 spent for use between Nov. 30 and Dec. 9 and free shipping on orders of $25 or more.

Walmart Black Friday: How low can you go? That seems to be Walmart’s M.O. this year with everything from air fryers to mini fridges. You can log on ahead of Thanksgiving at 10 p.m. EST on Nov. 27 to shop to your heart’s content.

Target Black Friday: Last but certainly not least is Target, who makes a case for itself with great electronic and home décor doorbusters. Its sale won’t go public until Nov. 28, but Target Circle members and Red cardholders can log on a day early to shop. Target Red cardholders will also earn an extra five percent off Black Friday pricing, and free shipping will be available site-wide.
