Laura Dern has been showing up all over the place lately, most notably starring on the hit HBO series Big Little Lies and in the upcoming film remake of Little Women. The talented actress has been working in Hollywood since her teens and has managed to retain that youthful glow in the decades since. Thankfully, she doesn’t mind spilling a few of her beauty product secrets with the rest of us.

In a recent video for Vogue, Dern took fans through her daily skincare routine, including the products she relies on to keep her skin looking its most radiant. First, she started by applying a probiotic mask, the Eminence Clear Skin Probiotic Masque ($64.03, Amazon). “It leaves skin feeling so good,” she claimed. “It’s probiotic! I mean, we’re eating it, why shouldn’t we put it on our skin?” Dern smoothed a thin layer of the product all over her face and, even before she was done applying it, she said it, “literally feels like it’s cleaning my skin my right now.” She then allowed that to sit for a few minutes before rinsing it off.

Next, Dern gushed about a company she loves so much, she became their spokeswoman: True Botanicals. “They are the most extraordinary brand,” she said. “Their products are so pure and so clean.” Along with being amazing for skin, she’s also a fan of how eco-friendly the company is, thanks to its glass packaging. Above all, though, she claimed True Botanicals’ hydrating products simply “work better than anything I’ve found.”

While continuing her routine, Dern first lightly spritzed a bit of the True Botanicals Nutrient Mist ($28, True Botanicals) all over her face and neck. She then followed with the True Botanicals Renew Pure radiance Oil ($110, True Botanicals), the first product she discovered from the brand after her Big Little Lies makeup team used it on her.  She described it as “magic” and claimed it has replaced her need for foundation. She applies it by placing a few drops on one hand, then rubs them both together, and gently presses the oil onto her face and neck.

To finish things off, Dern grabbed It Cosmetics’ Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer ($26, It Cosmetics) to “cover up a multitude of sins, as my grandmother would say.” She didn’t fuss around with brushes or sponges, but simply spread some of the product onto the back of her hand then used her fingers to dab it under her eyes.

The result was a flawless, beautifully natural-looking face! If she’s going to be at work on a film or TV show with a ton of thick makeup, Dern said she’ll add an extra step — Face Place Collagen Moisturizer ($50, Face Place) — which she says helps the makeup float above her pores rather than sink into them.

Whether she’s on screen or off, there’s no denying she always puts her best face forward!
