These $4 Stick-On Blinds Are The Best Find at IKEA
IKEA’s stick-on blinds are the solution to any of your window woes, be they lack of privacy or bright outdoor lights keeping you up at night. And at less than $4, you won’t hear any complaints from us. It’s no wonder these blinds have kicked off a shopping frenzy among savvy shoppers looking for a bargain.
Now that the kids are out of school, there should be plenty of hands around the house to help you realize your home improvement dreams. But the thing we love about the Schottis blinds ($3.99, IKEA), is that you don’t need any tools to put them up. You don’t have to install (or buy!) a curtain rod — that means no drills and, most importantly, no holes that you’ll have to patch up later.
These blinds adhere best to flat, smooth surfaces like the head (the section at the top of the window underneath the frame) or windowsill. Each set comes with clips so you can secure the blinds in whatever position suits your home’s design and a hook-and-loop fastener that allows you to keep the blinds shut completely. They come in a standard window size, but if they happen to be too long for your home, you can actually trim off the length with a pair of scissors.
While these blinds won’t block out every speck of sun, they allow enough light to enter your home to create a cozy atmosphere in any room. Some users stretch their blinds horizontally across the base of the window to allow for some privacy without cutting off the natural light from outside. You can also attach them to glass doors to create a more secluded feel.
Your blinds are bound to get dirty over time, but cleanup is easy: Just give them a gentle rub with a dust cloth or vacuum them using the soft brush attachment.
