Grilling Just Got More Delicious With This Zesty Turkey Burgers Recipe

Lemon adds a punch while plenty of crunch toppings make for a healthy, filling meal.

We love burgers, hot dogs and grilled chicken — but truth be told, they can get old really quick, especially if you plan on attending multiple barbecues this summer. That’s why I love finding easy twists that give these classics a fun flavor upgrade. So when our test kitchen came up with this Zesty Turkey Burgers recipe, I couldn’t wait to give it a try. The verdict? Delicious!

The simple secret to these patties is adding minced garlic and fresh lemon zest to the ground meat. The add-ins give the burgers a bright pop of flavor. And here’s a pro tip: Brush the patties with a bit of canola oil before cooking to prevent sticking and seal in the juices.

How to finish the burgers? For even more punch, we top them with pickled pickled red cabbage, savory red onion, vibrant cherry tomatoes and crunchy cucumber ribbons. Play around with your turkey burgers and let us know what you topped them with!
