To make quick work of slicing the sprouts, our test kitchen used a food processor’s slicing attachment.
- 4 slices bacon chopped
- 2 tbsp. olive oil
- 1 small onion chopped
- 2 (9-oz.) packages Brussels sprouts trimmed, halved and sliced
- 2 tbsp. apple cider vinegar
In skillet over medium heat, cook bacon until crisp; drain. Add enough oil to bacon drippings to equal three tablespoons. Add onion; cook until tender, four minutes, stirring. Add sprouts; cook until tender, three to five minutes, stirring. Stir in vinegar, 3/4 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Top with bacon and apple slices, if desired.
