Caprese Skewers Recipe Is a Fun Twist on a Classic Appetizer — So Easy + Impressive

They're perfect for summer gatherings!

Tomatoes are a hit or mess food for me, but I’ll always eat them in a Caprese-style dish. With mozzarella, basil, tomatoes and a balsamic glaze, you can’t go wrong with this aromatic appetizer at any time of the year. Our Caprese Skewers recipe is refreshing, full of flavor — and do you want to know the best part? It only takes about 15 minutes to prep. That’s a small investment that results in a big impact!

In our test kitchen, we make a homemade balsamic glaze. It’s super easy to mix together as it’s only made with balsamic vinegar, sugar and the herbs of your choice. However, if you need your skewers ready in a jiff, you can always buy a pre-made glaze at the grocery store. Then assemble your mozzarella, tomato and basil, and drizzle as much or as little glaze as you’d like. Crack some fresh pepper over them for an extra pop of flavor!

  • 12 cherry-size (ciliegine) fresh mozzarella balls
  • 12 large fresh basil leaves
