Cheese Turkey Stromboli Recipe Is The Ultimate Day-After-Thanksgiving Lunch

Stuffing it with leftover green bean casserole makes this stromboli extra rich and creamy

Thanksgiving dinner was absolutely delicious, but now you’ve got leftover turkey and green bean casserole. Sure, you could just reheat them and eat them again, but that feels a little been-there, done-that. To solve the Thanksgiving leftover quandary, we came up with a super creative and irresistibly flavorful way to enjoy all the extras — and it’s one that the whole family will love! Our cheese turkey stromboli recipe will have everyone eagerly anticipating lunch. It’s that good!

We take store-bought pizza dough (so easy breezy!) and stuff it with leftover turkey, green bean casserole, roasted red peppers and seasoned ricotta-parmesan mixture and bake it until golden. Once it’s ready, you can serve it with pasta sauce. Just imagine the look on your loved ones’ faces when you slice the stromboli and reveal all the yummy goodness that’s inside! We guarantee they will be gobbling it down and asking for seconds! Give it a try and leave us a comment below.

Cook Time

  • 1 (11 oz.) pkg. refrigerated thin-crust pizza crust
  • ½ cup low-fat ricotta cheese
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • 2 cups diced leftover cooked turkey
  • 1 cup leftover green bean casserole or creamed spinach
  • 1 cup diced roasted red peppers
  • 1 cup shredded low-fat mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup prepared pasta sauce

Heat oven to 425°F. In bowl, blend first 4 ingredients. Stir in next 3 ingredients. Unroll pizza crust on lined baking sheet.

Top with turkey mixture and mozzarella, leaving 2" border; roll and fold to enclose. Or for design, spread toppings in 4"-wide row lengthwise down center of dough. Cut ¾"-wide dough strips on either side of filling. Fold dough slightly over filling at ends; weave strips over filling. Bake 20 min. or until done. Serve with sauce for dipping.
