Cranberry Old-Fashioned

This pretty-in-pink cocktail swaps cranberries and ginger for traditional cherries. The result is a bright, zingy sip that provides an ideal contrast to heavy holiday foods.

  • 1/4 c. cranberries
  • 1/2 tsp. grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tsp. bitters
  • 1 tbsp. sugar
  • c. cranberry juice
  • 2 strips orange peel
  • 1/4 c. bourbon


In pitcher, muddle 1⁄4 cup cranberries, 1⁄2 tsp. grated fresh ginger, 1 tsp. bitters, 1 Tbs. sugar, 1⁄2 cup cranberry juice and 2 strips orange peel. Add 1⁄4 cup bourbon. Pour into 2 glasses over ice.
