Spiced Grilled Chicken Breasts Recipe Is Extra-Tasty With an Easy Bourbon BBQ Sauce

Of course, it’s packed with protein and incredibly easy to throw on the grill, but sometimes we get a little bored with the same-old falvorors. That’s why we upgraded this classic dish with our Spiced Grilled Chicken Breasts recipe. The best part? They’ll be ready to eat in only 15 minutes.

Rather than just seasoning with salt and pepper, we kicked it up a notch with chili powder and smoked paprika. The smoked paprika adds a more intense element and a stronger depth of flavor. And for a real treat, we gave store-bought barbecue sauce an easy upgrade with a bit of bourbon and brown sugar. The result? A zingy-sweet finish that is sure to have folks asking for seconds. Ingredients

  • 1 Tbs. chili powder
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp. smoked paprika
  • 6 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves, about 6 oz. each
  • 1 cup bottled barbecue sauce
  • 2 Tbs. packed brown sugar
  • 2 Tbs. bourbon

Instructions

• Prepare grill for medium direct-heat cooking. In small bowl, combine chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, 1/4 tsp. salt and 1/4 tsp. pepper. In bowl, rub both sides of chicken pieces with seasoning mixture. Coat chicken lightly with cooking spray.

• Place chicken over direct heat; grill, flipping once, until no longer pink in centers, about 7 min. per side. Transfer to platter; let cool. Cover and chill until ready to serve.

• When ready to serve, let chicken come to room temp. Meanwhile, in small pot, combine barbecue sauce, brown sugar and bourbon. Over medium-low heat, cook, stirring occasionally, until heated through and sugar is dissolved, about 5 min. Uncover chicken and transfer to serving platter. Brush sauce over chicken pieces.
