Our quick stovetop glaze caramelizes into a gorgeous crust as the meat bakes, setting the stage for a show stopping start to a sure-to-impress meal.
- 1 roasting chicken (6-7 lbs.)
- 1 tsp. dried sage
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 c. honey
- 1/2 c. bourbon
- 2 tbsp. light soy sauce
- 1 tsp. grated orange zest
Heat oven to 375°F.
Place chicken in large roasting pan; sprinkle with dried sage, garlic powder, 1 tsp. salt, and 1/2 tsp. pepper. Truss, if desired.
Roast 1 hr., 40 min. or until no longer pink near bones.
Meanwhile, in small pot over medium heat, bring honey, bourbon, soy . sauce, and orange zest to a boil. Simmer 10 min. or until reduced by half. Remove from heat.
Brush chicken with mixture twice during last 20 min. of cooking time.
