When I’m at a seafood restaurant, I love to order a fried fish sandwich as a special treat. The crispiness of the fish on the outside and the tender deliciousness on the inside is the perfect balance of textures and flavors. But eating out can get expensive, and to save money I wanted a DIY fish sandwich that was quick and easy to master. That was the inspiration for our crispy fish sandwiches recipe. Our version is an upgrade on the restaurant staple, but easy enough that you can whip it up on a weekday.
The secret? We use frozen fish fillet sticks from the supermarket and bake the fish for a healthier, but just as tasty, twist. Then we put the fish on crusty rolls that have been toasted and slathered with tartar sauce and top them with sliced cucumber, lettuce and red onion. The result is super flavorful and satisfying! Give this recipe a try, and then leave us a comment below.
