Rich sour cream, onions, and savory herbs combine to make these quick-prep rolls utterly irresistible.
- 3/4 c. sour cream
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp. butter melted
- 2 onions (about 1 ⁄ 2 lb.) sliced
- 1 lb. frozen bread dough thawed
- 1/2 c. chopped mixed fresh herbs like parsley, thyme, rosemary and chives
Heat oven to 425°F. In large bowl, mix sour cream, egg, butter, 1 tsp. salt, and 1/2 tsp. pepper. Stir in onions until well-coated.
Cut dough into 8 equal pieces. On lightly floured work surface, roll or pat dough pieces into 4" rounds. Place about 2" apart on ungreased baking sheet. Top with onion mixture; sprinkle with herbs. Bake 18–20 min., until baked through and golden.
Spice it up: To add heat to the filling, stir in 1/2 cup chopped roasted red peppers and 1/8 tsp. cayenne along with the onions.
