Craving the satisfying combination of crispy fish and golden potatoes but looking for a lighter option? Well, you don’t have to live by the sea (or travel to England) to make this comfort meal at home. With this air fryer fish and chips recipe, we went the lighter route so you can enjoy without the guilt. The secret’s in the air fryer: It achieves that perfectly browned, flaky fish and and crunchy potatoes with a fraction of the oil used in traditional deep frying methods. Plus, it only takes 30 minutes and tastes even better with our homemade tartar sauce.
When making this air fryer fish and chips recipe, choose a firm-fleshed fish (we use cod) for best results. These fish varieties hold their shape well during the cooking process. You can also use haddock or halibut. And to ensure your fish comes out tender, we have a trick for checking the internal temperature. What’s your preferred fish in fish and chips?
