There’s nothing I dread more than having to moisturize after a shower. Seriously, I’m already tensing up at the thought of slapping ice-cold goop on my shivering body. So, considering this is the season of giving, I’m giving myself the gift of a luxurious lotion warmer.
You can’t get away with not moisturizing in the winter. Sure, you can hide any unsightly flaky patches of skin under an ugly Christmas sweater, but you can’t escape the constant itching and burning of dry skin. Full-body moisture is a must.
Fortunately, some genius invented lotion warmers so you never have to suffer through another icy rubdown. All you do is add a bottle of your favorite body moisturizer into the machine, hit a button, and wait a few minutes for a toasty pump of lotion. (You can microwave your lotion for the same effect, but a lotion warmer is far less mess!)
The secret to using lotion warmers like a pro is to get everything set up before you get into the shower or bath. Then, when you’re almost done, you hit the start button on the lotion warmer. This way, the moisturizer is ready to go by the time you dry off.
We recommend the True Glow by Conair Heated Lotion Dispenser ($23.74, Amazon), because of its special design. Only the pump gets warm, so you don’t have to worry about the rest of the lotion spoiling in the heat.
Not convinced? This rave review from Elizabeth Appleby should seal the deal: “My husband ordered this for my baby and I, [as] we both deal with the eczema so I’m constantly applying lotion. When he said he was ordering it, though I was touched by the gesture, I really didn’t know if I’d use it much. Turns out I use it every day!! It’s so nice to take the baby out of the bath and have nice warm lotion to put on her, she used to squirm when I’d put cold lotion on her, now she relaxes so much when I apply it. I’ve noticed that the warm lotion also absorbs better and seems more moisturizing. It’s really a great product that I didn’t know I needed until I started using it.”
