It happens about once in every 80,000 pregnancies–a baby is born inside the amniotic sac. These miraculous newborns are known as caul babies and being born inside the caul is said to bring good luck. People also say that these rare babies will always love the water.

The mom who gave birth to this baby was carrying twins. While both were born prematurely, only this wee one–baby number two–was born inside an intact amniotic sac. And the doctors couldn’t get over it. Look how they hold the baby and rub a hand or a foot to get the baby to wiggle.
