Things were better in the old days, even sex. Yes, we like to think we are much more evolved than our parents but truthfully, they were having way more fun when they were our age.
At least that's the conclusion of a study released yesterday that shows that Americans, even married ones, are having less sex than they were 26 years ago. In 1990, married couples were making love, on average, around 73 times a year. Now it's dropped down to 53 times a year, or about once a week.
What accounts for the drop? Experts point to our love of technology, which entertain us endlessly at night (even between the sheets). And to our exhaustion, thanks to never-ending work schedules. And, even more alarming, a decrease in happiness for everyone, married or not.
Of course, the older you are, the less often you are making love. But when scientists compared the generations, they found that couples born in the 1930s were having more sex when they were in their 20s than their millennial grandkids who were born in the 1990s. Go figure!
