So Doable! New Study Says If You Lose This Tiny Amount of Weight, You'll Look and Feel Your Best Ever

Our face reveals a lot of things—you could call it our permanent billboard. So when we gain or lose a few extra pounds they tend to show up there first, broadcasting the news to our friends and colleagues.

Now Canadian researchers at the University of Toronto have pinpointed the exact amount of weight you need to ditch before other people notice your healthy new appearance. The answer: eight pounds. Doable, right?

To turn heads, though, you'll have to shed another six pounds for a grand total of 14. But what's more surprising is that men have to lose more than women—nearly 20 pounds—to be considered attractive.

To arrive at this conclusion, researchers took photos of men and women ages 20 to 40 and altered them digitally so that their faces put on the pounds gradually. Then they gave people random pairs, and asked them to chose the heaviest-looking one.
