Sneaky Mom Tells Her Straight-A Student-Daughter She’s Disappointed in Her Behavior Before Big Reveal

Emily Watson is a straight-A student. She volunteers feeding the homeless, she tutors other kids, and if she ever gets in trouble it’s for not finishing her homework on time. In other word’s she’s a good kid.

So Emily is slightly terrified when her mother, Teri, sits her down and tells her: “There are consequences to the type of behavior you have been exhibiting.”

By the time Teri hands Emily a box with a bow on it, the 16 year old looks distraught. Emily slowly unties the ribbon on the box and pulls out two photos, looking completely confused.

After reading the card, which is a picture of a Volkswagen Beetle with the caption “Your New Car!!!” Emily runs from the room crying.

“I thought I was in trouble, and I was freaking out because I didn’t know why,” Emily sobs. “It’s the car I have wanted forever.”

In 2009, Emily, her sister Grace, and their stepdad Andrew were in a serious car accident, and unfortunately Andrew passed away. She named her Beetle Sylvia, after the name Andrew gave his truck.

“Some people have criticized us on our delivery, but it was a great moment that all of us will remember for the rest of our lives,” Teri said in a DailyMail.co.uk article.

Good thing Emily has a sense of humor! She’s even joked about doing this to her own kids.
