Prince William has been called a motorcycle fan in the past, but his wife, Kate Middleton, is said to be less interested. Triple World Superbike champion Jonathan Rea told Hello! magazine in November 2017 that he had a chance to talk about motorcycles with the prince after a ceremony at Buckingham Palace.
"I know he's a bit of a motorcycle fan himself," Rea said. "We talked about his bikes and the fact that he has put it on the back burner a little bit because of his children now."
On Wednesday, February 20, Prince William couldn't help himself during a royal visit to the famous UK Triumph Motorcycle headquarters. Kensington Palace tweeted photos from the visit, and you can see the glee on his face. After touring the headquarters, Prince William took a spin on the Triumph Tiger 1200. He then took a spin on an Aston Martin bike around a high-speed track and looked right at home, despite his formal attire of slacks and suede shoes.
Well, we hope Kate wasn't watching! Seeing your partner on a motorcycle on a high-speed track is certainly a nerve-wracking experience, and a pregnant Kate does not need that kind of stress right now. Kensington Palace also shared a picture of a commemorative fuel tank given to Prince William to mark his visit. One thing is for sure — Prince William is not like a regular dad, he's a cool dad.
