These Adorable Reader-Submitted Pet Photos Will Put a Smile on Your Face

Tags:

The easiest way to brighten your day: browsing through pet photos. This tried-and-true pick-me-up does wonders for even the sourest of moods, and it’s a welcome break from the endless news cycle. Thankfully, a few of our First for Women readers and staff members volunteered their pet photos. Check out these precious dogs, cats, and even a bearded dragon below.

1. Duke, 12 Years Old

This photo of Duke was submitted by First reader Rhonda Humphry. “I’ve had him ever since he was a babe,” she shares. Rhonda loves bringing Duke along for “take your dog to work day.” Wonder if he helps out around the office!

Hopper, 4 Years Old

Who said all pets had to be furry? Scaly pets are welcome in our book — including this bearded dragon. (For those who don’t know, bearded dragons are gentle, and make great pets for kids.)

“This is my best buddy in the world,” shares Hopper’s mom, Lori O.B. “He loves his stuffies and snuggles with his mama.”

3. Olivaire, 4 Years Old

This photo of sweet Olivaire was submitted by our staff member, Holly J. Coley. We wonder whether he’s asking for pets or cat treats (most likely both).

4. Chorus, 1 Year Old

Chorus, cat

Chorus, Holly’s second pet, is now full-grown. But our team at First couldn’t help but include this photo of her when she was a tiny kitten. We’d do anything for those eyes.

5. Guilty Spark, 3 Years Old

We can’t decide which grabs more attention — the unique name or the fluffy tail. Owner and First reader Katherine C. says that Guilty Spark loves to lie on the piano and on her laptop, or on just about any tool that she’s trying to use.

6. Eva, 12 Years Old

Of course, I had to share a photo of my own pet! This is Eva, a Samoyed who loves to play in the snow and howl to “Hallelujah,” her favorite song.

We hope these sweet pet photos gave you the boost you needed.
