‘Freakier Friday’ Officially Has a Trailer! Watch it Here And Learn What The Cast Has to Say
The original stars are back for the highly-anticipated sequel to the 2003 hit
Freaky Friday part 2 officially has a trailer! After months of speculation and waiting, Walt Disney Studios released two teaser videos showcasing Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsey Lohan, confirming that not only is the movie made, but it will be hitting theaters this year! ‘Freakier Friday’ plot details and trailer breakdown
Set 22 years after the original, this film is sure to be a blockbuster hit.
Much like the first movie from 2003, the sequel will largely revolve around the Coleman women getting stuck in each other’s bodies. However, this time, they swap bodies with Anna’s [Lohan] daughter and soon-to-be stepdaughter and need to figure out how to swap back… before it’s too late.
Most of the plot has been kept under wraps; however, we see two things happen in the two teaser trailers.
First, we see Lohan reunite with her onscreen love, Chad Michael Murray, after having a conversation with her onscreen mother, Curtis, about making a sext grand entrance, which you can watch below.

Then, we get a much longer trailer where Curtis and Lohan deal with their second body swap with Lohan’s daughter (Julia Butters) and a soon-to-be stepdaughter (Sophia Hammons.) Then they devise a plan to try to try and act as one another, and things turn even weirder and weirder than they were before. You can watch that trailer below.
Who’s returning for ‘Freakier Friday’?
Alongside Lohan, Murray and Curtis, other original cast members such as Mark Harmon, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky and Rosalind Chao are set to appear.
The film will also bring some new actors and actresses, such as Manny Jacinto and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan. Their roles have yet to be announced.
What Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis have said
After releasing the photo confirming production in June 2024, Lohan took to Instagram to post a behind-the-scenes video of her and Curtis, captioning it: “We’re back! ☺”

Curtis also took to Instagram, and posted not one, but two things! The first was the same video Lohan posted, but with the caption “FREAK OUT TIME”.
The second was a picture of two pillows with Curtis’ and Lohan’s faces on it, with the actress captioning it, “FLIP IT AND REVERSE IT!”

This is not the first time Curtis has expressed her excitement about the film, saying back in 2022, “There would be nothing I would love more, honestly, than to be able to work with her [Lohan] again, share our time again, and now be able to share it at this age with both of us 20 years older, or whatever we are.”
In fact, back in 2022, Curtis even pitched an idea for what the film should be about. “Lindsay gets to be the sexy grandma who is still happy with Mark Harmon in all the ways you would be happy with Mark Harmon. And simply, I would like to see Lindsay be the hot grandma, and I would like to see me try to deal with toddlers today. I wanna be a helicopter parent in today’s world, as an old lady.”
When does ‘Freakier Friday’ come out?
In the trailer from Walt Disney Studios, they confirmed that the sequel will be released in movie theaters on August 8, 2025.
