I’m someone with naturally long lashes, but they’re so light that you can never tell unless I’m wearing a ton of mascara. Even then, the drugstore mascaras I’ve tried have never really been able to show off their full potential. I'm usually too stingy to spend more than $10 on any makeup product, but when I saw rave reviews for the Mia Adora 3D Fiber Mascara ($19.96, Amazon), which wasn't too far out of my budget and claimed to achieve the same appearance as false eyelashes, I knew I had to try it out for myself.
This mascara has nearly 4,000 glowing 5-star reviews from customers who say the product has totally changed their makeup game. The brand itself claims to boost your natural lashes by 300 percent with its three-step process: First, apply 15 to 20 strokes of a “magnifying gel” as you would normal mascara, then go over that with another 15 to 20 strokes with the wand of 3D fiber lashes, then wait 20 seconds for those to dry, and finally set it all with another 15 to 20 swipes of the gel. This might seem like a lot, but I swear it feels like I've spent just as much time swiping on ordinary mascara trying to get a decent emphasis on my lashes over the years.

It might not look exactly 300 percent fuller, but I'm personally thrilled with the results I was able to get — and can see them getting even better with a little more practice. I definitely need that when it comes to figuring out how to manage the fibers without having them fall over my face, but I'm fine dealing with that for the overall volume. I’m also happy that the product is paraben-free and hypoallergenic, too.
While I wouldn’t say these results could replace false eyelashes for someone who likes the uniform length and curl they can rely on from those, they're a nice in-between level of full that you can actually rock on a daily basis. I definitely recommend giving it a shot if you're looking for more oomph in your lashes, too!
