Hungry and on the Go? Melissa Joan Hart Says to Reach for Peanut Butter (Really)

As a busy mom of three, there’s nothing Melissa Joan Hart understands more than the need for a quick and easy snack for the little ones that’s nourishing and tasty. Her go-to? Peanut butter! The versatile snack is a must-have in her home, not only for her kids, for her herself, too.

“Nothing beats a creamy, tasty PB&J to help my family power through our day,” she has said. “As a mom, I enjoy sending them off with something I feel good about giving them. It’s our go-to easy lunch option and favorite on-the-go snack. There’s no skimping on the Jif in our house!”

While a peanut butter and jelly sandwich is a classic option, the famous mom says her five-year-old’s favorite snack is apples dipped in peanut butter. And with the oh-so-convenient Jif To Go snack cups, it’s never been easier to send your little one to school with the protein-packed goodie. Want to switch things up? Just replace your apples with bananas and you’re good to go!

And Melissa’s love for peanut butter doesn’t stop there! She’s such a fan that she teamed up with Jif for their “Imagine If, With Jif” contest and helped choose three finalists, which were announced on Nov. 14. The winners and their families all got $10,000 from Jif to help support their entrepreneurial and creative ideas to help make the world a better place.

While peanut butter has become a staple in Melissa’s busy household, she is looking forward to the holidays and being able to get a little more creative with her recipes. According to the actress, she just doesn’t have time to put together a nice homecooked dinner for five every night, but she excels when it comes to dinner for 20+ people. “There’s a lot of preparation, I can shop for many days and make the pies ahead of time,” she explained.

Check out the video below to see how she and her family will be spending the holidays this year.

There’s nothing the 41-year-old values more than family, which is very apparent when it comes to her Christmas traditions, partnerships, and general lifestyle. We love that the teen starlet grew up to become such a model for good parenting.
