Sketches of Meghan Markle’s Wedding Dress Options Have Leaked

Tags:

Although there’s a good chance Meghan Markle hasn’t yet picked her wedding dress, a few options from a possible contender have emerged: sketches from designer Inbal Dror have leaked to TMZ.

With long sleeves and cinched in waists, the designs seem to fall in line with traditional royal wedding styles, including that of Princess Diana and Kate Middleton.

However, they’re not without their “Markle sparkle” — one sketch features an inset of lace around the decolletage and another highlights the duchess-to-be’s lower back.

The Israeli designer, who has dressed celebrities such as of Beyoncé and Naomi Watts, confirmed she had sent a sketch for Meghan to consider at the request of Kensington Palace. Although, the design house would not comment further on details of the sketch or the request.

Of course, this is no done deal; an official designer for Meghan’s wedding dress is yet to be announced. But, it’s certainly a very big hint at what the former actress would like to wear on her wedding day.

Harry, 33, and Meghan, 36, became engaged over a roast chicken dinner at their home, Nottingham Cottage, on the grounds of Kensington Palace.

“It happened a few weeks ago, earlier this month, here at our cottage; just a standard typical night for us. Roasting a chicken… trying to roast a chicken,” Harry said of the private moment during an interview with BBC News broadcaster Mishal Husain.

“She didn’t even let me finish, she said ‘Can I say yes, can I say yes?’ and then there were hugs, and I had the ring in my finger, and I was like can I… can I give you the ring? She goes — ‘Oh yes, the ring.'”

“It was a really nice moment, it was just the two of us and I think managed to catch her by surprise as well.”

“It was so sweet and natural and very romantic,” Meghan added.

The duo will marry on Saturday, May 19, at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.

The venue is a relatively low-key choice (by royal standards, of course!), which stands in stark contrast to the pomp and pageantry of royal weddings past, particularly that of William and Kate, who married in the grandeur of Westminster Abbey.

Nonetheless, it’s still a popular choice.

Harry’s father, Prince Charles, wed Duchess Camilla at St. George’s in a “service of blessing” in April 2005. It was also chosen for the nuptials of Harry’s cousin, Peter Phillips and Autumn Kelly in 2008, and the Earl and Countess of Wessex in 1999.
