Forget the Kate effect! Shortly after announcing her royal engagement to Prince Harry, bride-to-be Meghan Markle's white coat sold out — and caused the designer's website to crash.
Meghan is already following in her future sister-in-law Kate Middleton's footsteps when it comes to her style influence. The Suits actress looked stunning in a white belted coat by the Canadian brand LINE. However, when women flooded the website to purchase the outerwear, it could not handle the traffic.

Following the photocall, LINE's president released a statement about the future royal's decision to wear their label. “We are incredibly honored that Meghan chose to wear a LINE coat to mark this very special occasion," he said. "Meghan has an effortlessly chic sense of style, which we’ve always admired. We know this particular coat is one of her favorite pieces, so we have officially decided to name it the ‘Meghan.’ We are elated for Meghan and wish her a lifetime of happiness with Prince Harry.”
The clothing line was founded in 2000 — and is known for its knitwear. And while the winter white style that Meghan, 36, wore is officially sold out (for now), the coat is available in rose dust. It retails for $799 CAD, which is approximately $625 in U.S. dollars. Following the big reveal and the first look at her Princess Diana-inspired engagement ring, fans flooded social media with compliments on the coat.
"A white coat was worn by #MeghanMarkle for the White Garden they have just visited. A subtle tribute for Diana. Much like the subtle poppies dress that Kate wore when she was last there," one fan tweeted before another added, "Wow, so Prince Harry swooning over Meghan Markle in her white coat is exactly what I needed this morning."
Underneath the coat, Meghan opted for a simple emerald dress by P.A.R.O.S.H, which is also an affordable but chic clothing line. Get to shopping, ladies!
