Meghan Markle Steps Out for Unexpected Post-Birth Workout

Tags:

A month after giving birth, Meghan Markle is well and truly getting back into the swing of things. And while she might have only officially made two public appearances in the days following the arrival of her new baby son Archie, it seems the royal has been getting out and about more than we originally thought.

Indeed the brand new royal mom has taken to leaving the confines of her home in Windsor, named Frogmore Cottage, in order to do something important to her and many other new moms out there — and we can’t help but applaud her efforts.

In a new interview with royal expert Kate Nicholl, it has been revealed the Duchess of Sussex has been working on her post-birth fitness routine, and she’s been getting out and about to do it.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Nicholl explained that while Meghan has indeed been taking it easy (as we’d hope any new mom would!), she had taken to yoga as a post-birth fitness regimen.

“Nothing too strenuous,” Nicholl added.

“That’s all Meghan has been doing. And lots of proud walks around Windsor Great Park, so gentle exercise, but no hard training, no weights.”

With this in mind, Windsor Great Park, which is a public area, would provide the ultimate sight-seeing experience at the moment — imagine bumping into Meghan on your morning walk!

According to Nicholl, Meghan is being taught postpartum yoga by her mother, Doria Ragland, as well as partaking in baby yoga. Doria is a yoga instructor who lives in LA, but it’s understood the new grandma is in frequent contact with her daughter between visits to see her in Windsor.

Nicholl insisted Meghan was in no hurry to get back into shape.

“Meghan hasn’t been hitting the gym… It’s only four weeks really since the birth and she’s been taking that exercise regimen very gently indeed,” Kate said.

“She’s enjoying this time. She’s being gentle to herself… As I say, the whole approach has been holistic.”

The approach doesn’t come as a big surprise to royal fans, who know Meghan to be a lover of wholesome and natural practices. Speaking to Best Health back in the day, Meghan revealed, “Yoga is my thing… My mom is a yoga instructor, and I started doing mommy-and-me yoga with her when I was 7.”

“I was very resistant as a kid, but she said, “Flower, you will find your practice — just give it time.'”

We’re all but sure Meghan and Archie might try a similar technique like she and Doria tried when the young royal is old enough to start the practice himself!

Despite being on official maternity leave, Meghan hasn’t been shy of stepping out and about for particularly special occasions.

Following her first official photo call with her newborn just days after giving birth, Meghan again stepped out at the annual Trooping the Colour parade held at Buckingham Palace earlier in June.

The royal looked happy and at ease as she smiled to onlookers from her carriage procession into the event, and as she stood on the balcony alongside members of the royal family, it was clear Meghan has well and truly slotted into life as a Windsor!
