We’re just as curious about our favorite celebs as you are — we love to know what they eat, what they wear, what’s in their makeup bags — and Katie Holmes has always caught our eye. Recently, we became even more enamored with her when we discovered that all her go-to beauty products are from the drugstore.

In an interview with Into the Gloss, she revealed that her skincare and hair staples are all extremely affordable. She also joked that she’s mastered the art of applying makeup quickly because she prefers to sleep a few extra minutes. Us, too!

After she snoozes, the first thing she does is gulp down a liter of water. Most of us know that the body needs water to function properly, but the skin needs to drink, too. Dry, dehydrated skin is prone to flaking and can feel tight. It’s also less resilient and more likely to wrinkle. Yikes!

The next step is Olay’s Regenerist Regenerating Cream Cleanser ($9.49, Olay), which Holmes says “really helps with the surface of my skin.” This anti-aging creamy cleanser works with all skin types and is designed to plump, firm, and correct your complexion. Holmes also likes to use it as a nighttime cleanser.

Then it’s on to Olay’s Active Hydrating Cream ($7.99, Olay), which provides 48 hours of hydration. Despite its rich and nourishing formula, it won’t leave behind a greasy film, according to users. “I’ve been using Olay for many, many years, and I grew up with my family members using it,” Holmes revealed. This is one of the reasons she became Olay’s first brand ambassador.

You would think Holmes would have a much more elaborate and expensive skincare routine, but the actress is sticking with her drugstore beauty products — and that extends to her haircare regimen. Holmes, who was also brand ambassador for Alterna Haircare, says she loves its Caviar Moisture Intense Oil Creme Pre Shampoo Treatment ($13.99, Amazon), which is ideal for colored hair. Holmes also adores Alterna’s Caviar shampoo, which makes our list of the best shampoos for thinning hair, as well as the Caviar conditioner.

Women rave about the pre-shampoo, saying, “This product is a must have! I’m 52 and I have noticed that the texture of my hair has become drier (especially at the ends.) Caviar Pre-Shampoo truly makes my hair so soft and lessens my time styling my hair with a flat iron, which we all know is horrible for your hair, but a necessary evil. I will never be without this product!”

And thanks to its affordability of Holmes’ skincare and hair routine, we don’t have to be!
