We all have that one ex-boyfriend that was such a jerk, we don't know what we ever saw in him. Whether he cheated or made fun of us or committed some other awful transgression, we have to admit that we definitely wouldn't mind watching him be punished for his mistakes. Well, one lucky woman in Hawaii actually got the chance to see that happen to a former flame — by order of a judge.
Judge Rhonda Loo ordered the woman's ex-boyfriend, Daren Young, to write a whopping 144 compliments about his ex-girlfriend. This sentence comes after the 30-year-old man allegedly sent 144 "nasty" texts and calls to his former partner, in violation of a protection order. Wow! Can you imagine your rotten ex being forced to write as many nice things about you as he did mean things? Talk about satisfying — and we're betting that some fools out there would have to write a lot more than 144, don't you think? Ahh, just thinking about it is like us getting birthday cake when it's not even our birthday.
It gets better: Loo also specified that Young could not repeat any words while writing these compliments. So that means that they all have to be unique and incredibly specific kind and uplifting phrases. Just think of that good-for-nothing man that insulted you and demeaned you being forced to not only write sweet words about you, but to be creative about it, too (which we all know is probably his weakness). Talk about icing on the cake.
In case you're wondering, the list of compliments is far from the only punishment for Young. In addition, he also received time served for the 157 days he spent in jail, two years of probation, 200 hours of community service, and $2,400 in fines. Worth mentioning: He also agreed to finally move on with his life.
We can't help but wonder, where's the justice for us after all we've had to put up with our exes? We're waiting!
