Jodie Sweetin Injured After Grabbing Daughter’s Toy

UPDATE (3/27) — Almost two months after a scary leg injury, Jodie Sweetin is up and walking the orange carpet!

The former child star attended the Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards on March 11 with her family. Sweetin was all smiles in a floaty white and pink maxi dress, which hid her foot cast.

Sweetin has progressed to crutches, which is a good sign considering she was basically stationary right after the operation.

Recovery takes time, but we’re wishing her all the best! Get well soon, Jodie!

UPDATE (2/16) — Good news! Jodie Sweetin is making progress barely one week after her operation.

Sweetin, who injured herself last month while jumping off a fence trying to get her daughter’s toy, just took to Instagram to post about a very “momentous occasion” during her recovery.

She wrote: “Momentous occasion everyone… I made it to the grocery store!! Woo hoo!! First non-doctor related outing so far!! What you don’t see is my amazing motorized cart. I’m dangerous on this thing!! Justin even did a IG live video of me, haha! It may not be easy, but I got this!! #idoallmyownstunts #hopalongcassidy #rollindownthestreetinmy64 #littlebylittle”

Grocery shopping might not be our favorite task, but it’s good to see her out and about–even if she’s still without the use of one leg. We’re glad she has such a supportive family to get her through this.

UPDATE (2/8) — After hurting herself while playing with her daughter, Jodie Sweetin has emerged from surgery “all pinned back together,” but healthy!

The Fuller House actress has been documenting her recovery on Instagram, and she recently posted a snap of her husband’s get well gift: an adorable stuffed frog dressed in a hospital gown and sporting a bandaid on its forehead. She captioned the photo: “Made it out of surgery this morning, all pinned back together!! @Justinhodak_ got me this cute little frog at the hospital that says, ‘Bounce back soon!’ He thought it was funny, as my jumping skills, or lack thereof got me here!!”

Hundreds of fans commented, wishing her a speedy recovery.

Since injuring her foot, Sweetin has taken to using the hashtag #learningtositstill as she shares with fans how she’s keeping busy with only one working leg. First thing on the list for the 35-year-old now that she has some free time? Finally catching up on all the reading she’s been wanting to do — something that’s probably on a lot of our list of our New Year’s resolutions.

Sweetin appears to be in good spirits! She continues to keep her fans updated about the goings-on of her two daughters–Zoie, born in 2008, and Beatrix, born in 2010–and her fiancé Justin Hodak. She even broke the news about the premiere of her comedy series Hollywood Darlings with 7th Heaven’s Beverley Mitchell and Step by Step’s Christine Lakin.

We’re so happy to see that Jodie Sweetin’s doing well, and we’re sending plenty of get well wishes her way!

(1/31) — Our thoughts and prayers are with Full House actress Jodie Sweetin after her accident!

The mother of two was playing with her youngest daughter, Beatrix, when she hurt herself trying to retrieve a toy that Bea had thrown over the fence. Sweetin, 35, “snapped [her] ankle and tibia in multiple places” while hopping over a fence.

She posted a photo of her bandaged foot on Instagram with the caption: “Well, my day did NOT go as planned!! I was trying to hop a fence to get a little toy that Bea had thrown over it, and on the way back, my dismount sucked. Snapped my ankle and tibia in multiple places and screamed like never before!! So… looks like surgery is in my near future. And probably no tap dancing for a while. But Zoie won all her soccer games and is still going in the next round! #supermom #fencejumpfail #idoallmyownstunts #hopalongcassidy”

The Fuller House actress will be sidelined for about 8 weeks as she gets ready for surgery “to put this little Humpty Dumpty back together again,” according to her latest Instagram update.

We’re wishing her a speedy recovery!
