How to See Who's Ignoring Your Facebook Friend Requests

If you've ever gone on a Facebook spree and sent friend requests to your entire high school class, chances are you've totally forgotten who has and who hasn't responded to your requests. So here's how to find out if someone — like your grandson Billy, for example — is letting your friend request sit like a fruitcake at a bake sale.

Ready? Okay, step one is to put on your internet sleuthing cap and fire up your browser. Once you log in to Facebook, click the friend icon in the blue toolbar. A list of all the friend requests you have received but haven't responded to should appear.

Next, you should see two little blue links at the top of the friend request drop-down menu; one says find friends while the other says settings. Click on the one that says find friends. That should open your friend request page in a separate link.

Still following? Good! Under the header that says "Respond to Your X Friend Requests," you should see a small blue link that says "View Sent Requests." Once you click that, you should be able to see all the friend requests that are still waiting for an answer. Pretty simple, right?

So the next time Billy tries to pull a fast one and says, "Grandma, but I did accept your friend request," you can pull this up on your computer. If you're not particularly impressed, the results of your detective work will also tell you who has denied your friend request. Now you know not only who hasn't gotten around to accepting your friend request but also who just plain doesn't want to be your friend on Facebook.

And now that you know people can see if you've left them hanging, it's time to clear out the friend requests you've received.
