Taking care of your skin and protecting it from the sun should be an important part of your daily routine all year round. Of course, even if you’re vigilant about applying and reapplying sunscreen on a regular basis, most of us were not always that way.

A Reddit user who admitted to regularly tanning and going without SPF for years in her youth recently shared some impressive results for reversing the damage caused by her bad habits. She included a list of the products she relies on and how she uses them each day. In the mornings, she starts with a gentle cleanser, then a vitamin C serum, and a moisturizer with SPF. At night, she uses the same cleanser and alternates following that with an AHA toner or a retinol before a concentrated moisturizer.

We ran her products by Deanne Mraz Robinson, MD, FAAD, president of Modern Dermatology and Assistant Clinical Professor of Dermatology at Yale New Haven Hospital, and she gave them the thumbs up. “This regimen offers a great approach to protection, prevention, and repair,” she told us. We’re sold!

Take a look to see how each of the products listed below can help you protect and repair your skin from sun damage.

If you’re looking for a cheaper alternative to the Midnight Rescue, though, an argan oil like this one can also provide plenty of hydration to help keep your skin healthy.
