Want to watch the total solar eclipse happening today? Frantically Googling "how to make solar eclipse glasses" as we speak? If so, you're not alone. And the good news is that there is a solution to your problem, if you weren't able to snatch a pair of solar eclipse glasses in time for today.
As it turns out, there's an easy way you can make a replacement for solar eclipse glasses — using a pizza box, of all things. And Pizza Hut has the full scoop on the process behind the crazy DIY hack. All you need is a pizza box, tin foil, scissors, a pen, and scotch tape. The goal is to turn all these items into a projector, not glasses. Since the projector will reflect the sun onto a screen, you'll be able to safely watch the solar eclipse on paper, rather than looking up at the actual sun.
The video tutorial, posted by the beloved pizza chain, shows how you can cut the pizza box in half and poke a hole in the middle of one side before covering it with tin foil and poking another small hole in the foil. Then, you can tape a plain white sheet of paper on the other half of the pizza box. Finally, you can stand with the sun behind you and watch the beauty unfold right in front of you.
Watch the easy step-by-step process for yourself in the video below.
Happy eclipse viewing (and hopefully, pizza-eating)!
