3 Ways to Boost Your Smartphone For Free

Our phones have become so engrained in our lives that when any little glitch or blip goes wrong, it can feel like the world is ending. Luckily, you don’t always need to spend a ton of cash taking them to a store for repairs to keep things running smoothly.

Take a look at how you can give your phone an extra boost of effectiveness with a few simple tricks!

Float Photos

The average mobile user has 630 photos in their phone’s storage. Make room by downloading a free cloud-sharing app like Google Photos and automatically syncing images. Then select “Free up space” so all your photos are kept secure in the cloud, not your mobile.

Turn Off Tracking

Background “location tracking” (used for apps like Lyft and GasBuddy) drains battery power. So deny permissions to apps if you don’t need 24/7 tracking. In the settings, select “While Using App” instead of “Always.”

Consider a Reset

Phone hopelessly bogged down? Do a factory reset (look for the option under Settings), which returns the device to its original, out-of-the-box state. Just back up your data first using your Google or iCloud account.
