How to Make White Vinegar Shower Cleaner

It's affordable, effective, and all-natural.

Do ever look under the sink or in your laundry cupboards and think “why do I need this many different cleaning products?” The answer is, you don’t.

While the companies that produce these products would like us to believe we need an arsenal of chemical-laden and often expensive cleaning products to get the job done, sometimes the most simple and affordable ingredients prove to be the most effective. Case in point: white vinegar.

Not only is white vinegar proven to be effective against bacteria, but it’s completely natural so you don’t need to expose yourself to nasty chemicals whenever you clean the house. Whether you need to disinfect, deodorize, or degrease — you can rest assured that a bottle of cleaning vinegar will be up to the job.

White vinegar is especially effective for cleaning and killing mold so, before you reach for the bleach, try this natural white vinegar shower cleaner first.

  • 1/4 cup white vinegar
  • 1 cup water

Mix the ingredients in a microwave-safe bowl and heat for 30 to 60 seconds. Pour into a spray bottle. Spritz onto the shower surfaces and let sit for 3 to 5 minutes. Wipe clean with a microfibre cloth. For stubborn mold, use a toothbrush to scrub the vinegar solution into the grout.

Why it Works

The warm liquid softens grime, making it easier to wipe away while the vinegar kills mold and mildew.
