If your bathroom counters are looking cluttered, adding an outlet shelf is a quick and affordable fix. After all, the 10-step skincare routine requires a lot of products, so we don’t blame you for always running out of space.

Installing BeraTek’s Power Perch ($7.99, Amazon) is simple: all you do is unscrew the wall plate, align the outlet shelf with the wires, and screw the wall plate back in so it’s in front of the outlet shelf. You can orient the Power Perch so the shelf is on the top or bottom of the wall plate depending on your needs.

Once it’s installed, use it to hold your toothbrush, clock, speakers, your husband’s electric razor, phone charger, Alexa or Google Home, an essential oil diffuser, you name it! The Power Perch is designed to hold up to 10 pounds and can work in any room of your house, so the storage possibilities are endless.

One thing to note is that it the outlet needs to be roughly an inch and a quarter away from any other object for there to be room to install the Power Perch. If your outlet is too close to a cabinet or window, there won’t be room for the shelf.

“I’m extremely pleased with this perch (shelf). It was very easy to install; it took all of three mins max. I didn’t need longer screws,” one reviewer wrote. “I installed it in an outlet next to my bed. This shelf is perfect for my phone to sit on while charging. I accidentally tested the weight capacity by putting a heavy glass of water on it while I was looking for something. I immediately thought I had made a terrible mistake and would end up with a mess. The shelf didn’t break nor buckle!”

One downside of the Power Perch is that there’s no hook for cords, which bugs some people who like to use the Perch to hold their phone. However, one reviewer offered a simple solution: “I put a small Command lever style hook (like you use for small kitchen utensils) under the shelf so I can wrap my phone charger cord (6 ft) out of the way; problem solved.”

Looks like we know what our weekend home renovation project is going to be!
