Celebrity mamas like Hilary Duff seem to have motherhood all figured out. After all, they somehow manage to balance a wildly successful career, caring for a child, and looking fabulous while doing so. But under the surface, Duff still has a totally relatable struggle that she just had to get off her chest.
So Duff has opened up about her struggle with "mom guilt," and it just might be the most refreshingly honest thing you'll hear from a celeb today.
"I always feel torn or guilty about something," she said. "I'm not working right now, and at first I stressed about that, like, 'Oh, I shouldn't stay still this long.' And that's ridiculous."
But lucky for us, the actress has a secret to balancing motherhood, as well as dealing with co-parenting her 5-year-old Luca with her ex-husband Mike Comrie: taking the pressure off of herself to be slammed all the time with her schedule.
"As I get older, I feel more comfortable 'leaning out,'" she revealed. "I don't need to cram every day full, because I can and because I'm capable. I have worked my whole life."
And focusing on mommy duties also comes with a few perks for the star in the meantime.
She added, "It feels really good to not be on someone else's schedule—besides Luca's. I'm basically his chauffeur!"
Yet another thing all moms can relate to! Kudos to her for being so candid.
