Vagisil’s $4 Bath Bombs Are Luxurious and ‘V-Friendly’

I enjoy nothing more than soaking like a human noodle in a relaxing bath before bed — especially if it has a scented bath bomb in it. But I’ve heard these fragrant fizzers can cause UTIs or yeast infections, so when Vagisil rolled out their new Scentsitive Scents V-friendly Bath Bombs ($3.97, Walmart), I was more than happy to jump in the tub to test them out.
When I took the bath bomb out of the packaging, my initial thought was the odor was overpowering. Don’t get me wrong, the two new scents — peach blossom and white jasmine ($3.97, Walmart) — smell lovely. But the fragrance was so harsh on my nose that I had a hard time believing the product would be sensitive enough to not irritate things downstairs.
Even with the intense fragrance, I was still concerned that in order to not disrupt the vagina’s delicate chemical balance, these bombs — which are hypoallergenic and pH friendly — would be weaker than the ones I love. I wanted Vagisil’s new Scentsitive Scents line to feel as luxurious as when I splurged on a $10 bath bomb from Lush.
And guess what? It did! These bath bombs totally exceeded my expectations. Not only did the scent mellow out once I dropped the fizzie in the tub, but the experience felt similar to the more expensive versions. As I steeped in the sweet scents of peaches and jasmine, I was able to shut my eyes and block out all the stressors from my day.
The only difference was it didn’t create a layer of bubbles in the tub, which was actually a plus because I hate getting out of the tub covered in foam and looking like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. Another pro for me is these bath bombs aren’t shimmery, meaning I didn’t look like a 14-year-old who had gone a little crazy with the body glitter either.
After getting out of the bath, I noticed the bath bombs had left behind a hydrating layer of moisturizer on my skin, so I skipped the lotion that I usually lather on after my baths. Then, I hopped into bed and slept like a baby thanks to the bath bombs’ soothing chamomile.
