Gwen Stefani Is Not Returning to ‘The Voice’, but Is She Joining ‘American Idol’?

Is Gwen Stefani jumping ship? Rumors are swirling that The Voice judge is being courted by another reality singing competition series — American Idol. However, her longtime boyfriend, Blake Shelton, is not too happy.

Gwen is taking a break from The Voice, with Jennifer Hudson taking over her rotating chair for the upcoming season. When asked if she was interested in joining the ABC reboot, Gwen did not hold back. Watch the video below for her response!

Meanwhile, sources reveal to Life & Style that her nearly two-year relationship with Blake has stalled. “Wedding and baby talk plans are on hold,” the insider says. “Their future is very much in the air.”

Previously, sources told Life & Style that producers wanted an onscreen proposal from Blake but he refused. The source revealed that the couple was pushed “to act very affectionately and playful with each other” but are secretly contemplating a split. “Off-set, [Gwen’s] miserable,” the source added. “Gwen and Blake began to argue more. Then she started to realize they’re just too different to spend the rest of their lives together,” a different insider the news outlet.

Blake wants to spend more time with Gwen in Oklahoma, while the “Hollaback Girl” singer needs to stay in California where she shares custody of her three sons, Kingston, 11, Zuma, 9, and Apollo, 3, with ex-husband, Gavin Rossdale. Plus, with her not returning to The Voice alongside the country singer, tensions are brewing.
