Up to 45 percent of women experience hot flashes for up to five years after menopause, and for some, the symptoms can last more than 10 years. But in trials, combining a keto diet with a pH-balancing alkaline diet has been shown to reduce the number and severity of hot flashes by 50 percent in just two weeks.
And in a study of more than 6,000 women, researchers in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that those who ate a keto-alkaline diet were 20 percent less likely to experience hot flashes and night sweats than those who ate a diet higher in sugar and carbs.
