The Shockingly Simple Way to Make Your Own Fluffernutter Mallomars

We bet you haven’t thought about either of those since childhood, right? That means you’re snacking wrong! Growing up doesn’t have to mean abandoning your kid-approved favorites. It just means you get to eat grown-up, more decadent versions.

Like this genius combination of Fluffernutters and Mallomars that gets a seriously mature sprinkling of flaked sea salt over the top for a final flourish. Even better: The cookies are easy enough to make that your inner kid could do it.

The crunchy, gooey, chewy treat gets a couple of fancy touches that make them even better than those childhood staples you remember. The Mallomar part of this updated classic cookie gets a toasting treatment in your broiler for that campfire flavor that–in our humble opinion–the boxed versions were lacking all along. Then a silky, creamy sweetened peanut butter topping is piped onto the top of the marshmallow before the whole thing is dipped in chocolate.

If you don’t have piping bags lying around the house, just fill a Ziploc bag with the sweet PB spread and snip off a corner of the bag with scissors for a DIY version of the pastry tool.
