6 Disneyland Recipes That Will Transport Your Tastebuds to the Happiest Place on Earth

Cookie fries, churro bites, and more!

Disneyland has closed its doors while Mickey Mouse and his friends practice social distancing like the rest of us, but “the Happiest Place on Earth” is still doing what they can to help make all of our lives a little more magical.

You might not be able to build Splash Mountain in your living room, but whipping up some of the iconic recipes shared recently by the park can definitely take your tastebuds on a wild ride.

So far, they’ve released six of their park staples for us to create in our own kitchens. They’re mostly on the sweeter side, like fan-favorite churros and cookie fries, but there’s at least one savory dish you’ll want to sink your teeth into as well. Take a look to see how Disney puts their own special spin on these scrumptious recipes!

Plant-Based Cookie Fries

The park started rolling out more plant-based options — made without meat, dairy, eggs, or honey — just before we all went into shutdown mode. This recipe from the Beaches & Cream Soda Shop at Epcot uses liquid egg substitute, plant-based margarine, and dairy-free chocolate chips to create a delectable dip-able dessert.

Churro Bites

As one of the most popular dishes served at all Disney parks, being able to make this cinnamon-y sweet treat at home will definitely put smiles on many faces. They’ve scaled down their bigger restaurant-sized batches to serve about four people (but we won’t judge if you don’t want to share). Just be sure you’re extra-careful while frying up these li’l bites at home with hot oil.

Grilled Cheese Sandwich from Toy Story Land

This savory recipe takes the classic grilled cheese up several notches with a cream cheese and cheddar spread, garlic mayo spread, and more cheddar and provolone slices to finish the sandwich up. Clearly, a must-make for any cheese fans! The park fittingly shared the recipe, which is usually served up at Woody’s Lunch Box in Toy Story Land, on National Cheese Day (April 12).

Chocolate, Peanut Butter, Banana French Toast

Looking for a way to use your ripe bananas before they start to brown and ultimately become yet another loaf of banana bread? This delightful recipe, usually served at Disney’s PCH Grill at their Paradise Pier Hotel, will do the trick! Whip it up with some day-old bread, chocolate chips, creamy peanut butter, cinnamon, and, of course, bananas for a family brunch ASAP.

Mickey Mouse-Shaped Beignets

You might not have a Mickey-shaped cookie cutter, but you can still enjoy this Disney-ified version of the sweet New Orleans staple from their Port Orleans Resort by making them into traditional squares. You will need to get your hands on some dry yeast, though, and plenty of powdered sugar to top off the puffy, fried-up goodness.

Dole Whip

The park shared this beloved ice cream treat from Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room on their mobile app, My Disney Experience. It only uses three ingredients: a big scoop of vanilla ice cream, 4 oz. pineapple juice, and 2 cups frozen pineapple chunks. You just toss them all into a blender until combined! If you have a star-tipped piping bag, you can create the same swirl they make at the park, or just pour it into a glass as-is.
