This Easy 3-Ingredient Creme Brûlée Will Make You Feel Like You’re at a Fancy French Restaurant

When you say crème brûlée out loud, it rolls off the tongue in this really smooth, seductive way. Eating the delicious French dessert has a similarly pleasing effect, but who has the time to try and perfect such a complicated, fancy recipe?

If you haven’t already heard of it, crème brûlée is a sweet, creamy custard dessert. The phrase literally translates to burned cream, though you don’t actually burn the cream. You have to bake it just right to get the perfect, velvety texture and then add a layer of burnt sugar on top. Sounds like a lot of work, right?

For the culinary challenged out there (ahem, like myself) Tik Tok has been one of the most useful resources for super simple recipes. Most recently, I stumbled upon one that made a mouth-watering crème brûlée easily achievable at home. The best part? All you need is three ingredients.

To make this crème brûlée, you just need vanilla ice cream, eggs, and sugar. If you look up other crème brûlée recipes online, chefs will use a blowtorch to caramelize the sugar on top, but don’t worry — this recipe doesn’t require anything too complicated. All you need are your ingredients, a microwave, a stove top, and an oven.

The recipe above was adapted from an original Tasty recipe by @shefshaq on TikTok. The original video was taken down, but you can see it replicated here. First, preheat your oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Melt a half cup of ice cream in the microwave. Then, whisk in one egg yolk and pour the mixture into a ramekin.

Next, put the ramekins into a cake pan and add hot water so that the pans are filled to about half the height of the ramekin. You can then place them in the oven to bake for 40 to 50 minutes. After baking, wait for the ramekin to cool down, and then place it in the fridge to sit for two hours. After they’re cooled, combine one tablespoon of sugar with some water on your stovetop to caramelize the sugar, then drizzle it while it’s hot on top of the custard.

That’s it! So the next time you’re craving a fancy sweet treat, whip up one these super easy crème brûlée desserts. With very little effort, you’ll feel like you’re dining in France!
