Mom Was Stuck in a Broken-Down Truck with Her 4 Kids in a Dark Parking Lot. Then a Man Rapped on Her Window

We’ve all reached our breaking point when it seems like nothing will ever go right again. For Tawny Nelson, a single mom of four girls, that moment came in a dark Winn Dixie parking lot when her truck wouldn’t start and her phone was dead too. She tried to flag down fellow shoppers to give her car battery a jumpstart, but no one paid attention. After two hours of this, Nelson was in tears; her 5-year-old and newborn were screaming, her 2-year-old was clamoring for food, and her 9-year-old was trying to help.

Then the mother heard a rap on the passenger window and looked over to see an elderly man standing with his cane. When she opened the door, he handed her a plate of food and bottles of water and told her to feed herself and her girls. But his kindness didn’t stop there. He told her he’d called a tow truck and his wife could give the whole family a lift back home.

But the gentleman still wasn’t done. The next day he sent a mechanic to her home, who fixed everything that was wrong with the truck. When she asked the mechanic for the bill, he told her the elderly gentleman had paid for it. The only payment the older man had asked in return? “To never give up and keep being an amazing mom,” Tawny wrote in a Love What Matters post.
