Little Boy Tells Dad Scar Makes Him Feel Like a ‘Monster.’ Then His Dad Picked Up a Needle

Looks like we have a winner for Dad of the Year.

When Josh Marshall’s 8-year-old son Gabriel was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2015, it was very hard on him when he needed intense surgery on his head. It was even worse for him when he was left bald afterward–with a very noticeable scar.

Gabriel sadly told his dad that his scar made him feel like a “monster.” Especially since so many people were staring at him.

“I told him if people wanted to stare, they could stare at both of us,” Josh said.

That’s why Josh not only shaved his head, but also got a tattoo in the identical shape of his son’s scar–taking solidarity with him to the next level.

The best part of the story? Little Gabriel is now doing well and has been out of treatment for 9 months.
