Luke Perry, ‘90210’ Star, Dies at 52

Luke Perry, the actor best known for his roles on Beverly Hills, 90210 and Riverdale, has died after suffering a “massive stroke,” TMZ reports. He was 52 years old.

Perry’s rep confirmed the sad news to Variety with the following statement: “[Perry] was surrounded by his children Jack and Sophie, fiancé Wendy Madison Bauer, ex-wife Minnie Sharp, mother Ann Bennett, step-father Steve Bennett, brother Tom Perry, sister Amy Coder, and other close family and friends. The family appreciates the outpouring of support and prayers that have been extended to Luke from around the world, and respectfully request privacy in this time of great mourning. No further details will be released at this time.”

Born Coy Luther Perry III in Mansfield, Ohio, the future star first got his start in TV in the 1980s in shows such as Loving and Another World. But it was in 1990 that Perry became a household name while playing the heartthrob Dylan McKay on Beverly Hills, 90210. Most recently, he played Fred Andrews on Riverdale, and he will appear posthumously in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, set to come out later in 2019.

Aside from being adored by fans all over the country, Luke Perry was also beloved by fellow stars in Hollywood. Many of them took to social media to mourn the loss after hearing the news.

We’re keeping Perry’s family in our thoughts during this difficult time.
