Christopher Meloni’s New Comments Send ‘SVU’ Fans Into a Frenzy

Former Law and Order: SVU star Christopher Meloni let slip a big SVU secret that has fans everywhere in a tizzy.
Stabler wants to come back—on certain conditions, of course.
“I have always said I would be open to it,” Meloni told Entertainment Tonight. “[The] circumstances have to be right, that is all.”
“We will see [if I return for the series finale],” he added. “It has never been brought up to me, so that is the kind of question that’s kind of out of my hands.”

Meloni walked away from his role as Det. Elliot Stabler after season 12. Since then, many of original SVU cast members have left. Only Mariska Hargitay, who plays Det. Olivia Benson, and Ice-T, who plays Finn Tutuola, are recognizable to early SVU fans.
But Meloni’s departure from the TV show doesn’t mean he isn’t in contact with his co-stars. Meloni and Hargitay, prove their on-screen chemistry is just as real off-screen, teasing fans often with heartwarming photos of themselves hanging out. For Valentine’s Day, the pair surprised fans with an adorable reunion photo.
“You know, we don’t live under a rock. We do it one time and suddenly, you know, she called and she is like, ‘Do you believe what just happened?’ and I’m like, ‘Yeah, that is crazy,'” he recalled. “Now we do it just to see the reaction, [to] ring the bell.”
Of course, Meloni and Hargitay enjoy the reaction their photos receive from social media followers who are desperate for Stabler to return.
“It is lovely [to still see the fan support],” he confessed to ET. “I always kind of felt it and knew it. I knew how important it was to people, how much it meant to people. Twelve years with your partner in crime it is a long time.”
We enjoyed the couple’s 12 years together, but we don’t think it’s too much to as for another 12!
